As previously discussed in a lab you can use a technology called EtherChannel which bundles multiple links into a single logical link and is processed as such. So when you have two links between two switches, one link gets blocked completely thus effectively killing the potential for a broadcast storm on a layer two networking loop but also kills the usefulness of a redundant link.
